My name is Nicolaas Kraster and let me start by thanking you for visiting my site.

I have been a gigging musician for over twenty years and a visual artist for thirty. Kraster Guitars began with the guitar pictured here. (At the time I had no intention to start my own company so it incorporates many design cues in tribute to my late father who played an L-5.) I had this guitar built after being terribly disappointed with a very expensive guitar from a well known manufacturer. Shortly after having this guitar built my drummer at the time (Dave Stark) took my wife and I to our first NAMM in Nashville. The day before it began I met a gentlemen named Bob Baily. Bob gave me some words of wisdom that have become the cornerstone of Kraster guitars "Not all companies are created equal". He explained that it's the people that make the company and Bob is definitely good people.

So here it is, Kraster Guitars. I have teamed up with some great companies: GraphTech, Bartolini, Tyson Tone Lab, Schaller and WD Music Products. The woodwork is done in China then sent to me for set up, electronics and finishing. I work with you to create the guitar of your dreams from hardware to set up. When it arrives it is ready to gig.
